KnowGately Terms of Service

Effective date: 6 August 2026

These Terms form an agreement between you, the parent, guardian, teacher, or tutor using KnowGately, and Maremma Studio, the independent developer of KnowGately based in Poland. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

YouTube API Services and YouTube content

KnowGately uses YouTube API Services for its reviewed YouTube integration. By using KnowGately’s YouTube features, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Google describes how it processes information in the Google Privacy Policy. KnowGately’s own handling of YouTube API data is described in the KnowGately Privacy Policy.

Parents may select public videos, playlists, and channels. KnowGately does not own or host that content, cannot guarantee its availability, and does not permit downloading, separating audio, modifying playback media, or taking YouTube write actions. Standard YouTube embeds may display YouTube-provided controls, links, related content, or advertising.

1. The service

KnowGately is a parent-controlled learning service. Adults curate learning resources, pair a child’s Android, iPhone/iPad, or Windows device, set learning boundaries, and review progress. Children do not create accounts. Features that depend on an external provider may remain disabled while policy, safety, or technical review is incomplete.

2. Adult accounts and authority

You must be legally able to enter this agreement and have authority to manage every child profile you create. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your credentials, and all curation and settings made through your account. Tell us promptly at support@maremma.dev if you believe the account has been compromised.

3. Parent-selected content

You decide which third-party videos, webpages, PDFs, and images to assign. You are responsible for reviewing whether selected material is suitable for the child and for having the right to upload private files. KnowGately provides curation and technical boundaries; it does not certify third-party content as educational, safe, accurate, or continuously available.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the service unlawfully or to harm, exploit, or surveil a child;
  • attempt to bypass authentication, device pairing, policy gates, or usage limits;
  • upload malware or material you do not have permission to use;
  • scrape, resell, or misuse YouTube API data or other provider content;
  • use multiple projects or credentials to evade provider quotas or restrictions.

5. Privacy and child data

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, retention periods, YouTube API data use, and parent rights. No child profile or learning activity is collected before the parent completes the consent flow. Parents can review, correct, withdraw consent, and delete child or account data from the dashboard.

6. Plans and payments

The current core product is free. Selected family-test accounts may receive Premium access, but KnowGately currently has no checkout or billing flow. Paid terms will be presented before any future purchase.

7. Availability and changes

KnowGately is under active development. We may change, suspend, or remove features to protect children, comply with provider rules, fix security issues, or improve the service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of KnowGately or third-party content.

8. Intellectual property

KnowGately’s software, branding, and original materials belong to Maremma Studio. Third-party content and marks remain the property of their respective owners. These Terms do not transfer ownership of YouTube content or YouTube brand features.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using KnowGately and request account deletion at any time. We may restrict or terminate access for serious misuse, legal requirements, security risk, or violation of these Terms, and will protect or erase data as required by the Privacy Policy and law.

10. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by Polish law, without removing mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Questions or notices may be sent to support@maremma.dev.
