How to start
YouTube on your terms — in about ten minutes
Four steps from a new account to a child opening the video you chose. Each step shows the screen you will see.

Create the parent account and add your child 2 min
Sign in with an email address, confirm it and add a child profile. You will be asked for consent once, with a plain-language list of what the app records.
Install Kids on the child’s device and pair it 3 min
Install KnowGately Kids from Google Play or the Microsoft Store. In the dashboard, open Pair a device and scan the code with the child’s device. Pairing happens once; the device stays paired until you revoke it.
Installing Kids alone does not block every other app or browser. Whole-device restrictions depend on the operating system and additional setup. Always check the settings on your child’s device.
Create a subject and add the first material 3 min
Name a subject, paste a YouTube link or upload a PDF, and set a daily goal if you want one. The subject appears on the child’s device as soon as you save it.
KnowGately has no ad inventory. YouTube may still serve ads inside its official embedded player.
Open it together and look at the report 2 min
Watch the first video with your child so you both know how Kids behaves. Later, the report shows time per subject, completed materials and any blocked attempts to leave.

Try the reward rule with the example below before you set one for real.
Prepare
Add your child, pair Kids using a code and create a Space subject. Choose a video about the Moon and a PDF worksheet.
Set the rules
Set a daily goal of 15 minutes. Optionally add a separate reward subject with a chosen cartoon that becomes available after this goal.
Your child explores
Your child opens the assigned video and worksheet in Kids. Selected materials are in one place, with access governed by your rules.
Review activity
Check recorded time and completed materials in your dashboard. Talk about what your child discovered and choose the next topic together.

What is a reward?
Materials you choose in Kids, such as a cartoon in a separate subject. You can make access depend on learning time in one or more subjects. Rewards are optional.
This example assumes the allowed hours and reward time limit also permit access. A reward does not unlock other apps or the whole device.
